Korea Culture & Tourism Institute

Korea Culture & Tourism Institute (KCTI) is a national policy research institute, affiliated with Korea Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and it contributes to realizing Creative Korea and improving the quality of cultural life. The research, information service and joint projects in the institute help to establish, implement and evaluate the best policy for the nation, by promoting joint work by the government, local authorities and private sectors.

To come true a nation of culture is the ultimate vision that KCTI pursuits. Regarding this, it tries to construct the framework for a policy of culture & tourism, develop and research more specific projects so as to put into practice. As a sole research institute in cultural fields, which is sponsored by the government, KCTI takes its leading roles as a think-tank and coordinator linking government and civil society. KCTI hopes that its initiatives will lead to more job opportunities, the fullness of cultural atmosphere, which eventually means all of our society become more affluent.

Dr. Kim, Kyuwon

Dr. Kim, Kyuwon is the Director of Division, Contents industry and Economy Division of Korea Culture & Tourism Institute. As Kim researched Regional Cultural Planning and Festivals in France and Europe, Kim started my work on cultural field especially about Regional cultural planning and Evaluation of festivals in the Institute where he started to work from 2001. After that, he worked in planning cultural facilities as libraries, museums and concerts halls. Also in 2003 Kim researched on Foreign Examples of Cultural Impact Assessment. Kim currently works in the field of planning of Traditional music policy, Cultural Diversity and Urban regeneration through Arts and culture, etc.

 

 

Dr. Yang Hye-won

Dr. Yang, Hye won is a director of Arts Policy Research Division at Korea Culture & Tourism institute affiliated with Korea Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Yang has joined various research projects such as Arts education, cultural welfare, evaluation study, Cultural Impact Assessment (CIA) since 2011. Yang was adjunct professor of Graduate School of Public Policy at Hanyang University from 2013 to 2016. She is also a member of the editing committee of the Korean Association for Policy Studies. Her main areas of research are regional cultural policy, Arts education, Cultural democracy and Cultural Impact Assessment.
